Together against hunger - El Elyon Christian School

In Bauleni, a densely populated part of Lusaka, more than 150 children at El Elyon Christian School get a hot meal twice a week. We are raising donations for these school meals and for school materials, so that the children can learn on a full stomach and with everything they need.

  • School meals for 150 children 🍛
  • Aiming for 2 meals a week 🥘

El Elyon Christian School teaches children from Bauleni whose families have little to fall back on. Twice a week the school cooks for more than 150 of them, and one such week costs 1,250 kwacha, around 56 euros. In the long run the school wants to cook on every school day, so that the children can rely on a meal.

This is what we are raising donations for, specifically school meals and school materials, because both go straight to the children.

We are deliberately not investing in the school building. It is only rented, and because the relationship with the landlord is difficult, our money would go into a building the school has no say over. There is a building for sale nearby that could give the school a home of its own. At around 17,000 euros it is beyond our means for now, so it remains a prospect rather than a fundraising goal.
